Wow, today i am turning in my final paper for my bachelors degree. 3 years have gone by in a finger snap. Now I have to figure out if I want to work for a couple of months before studying for my Masters degree, or whether to jump right into it. Either way, I have a long holiday now, and I sooooo needed that. Cheers!

In a break from studying today I thought that I had never tried this Twitter thing, even though it’s a few years old. So…I signed on, and you can now follow me here, and maybe have me follow you, if you twitter as well.

Indeed Friday the 13th today.

I stayed up all night and watched my beloved Lakers throw the biggest lead in Finals history away to the Celtics. Bummer.

There’s a short prelude to the second downer of today: A few months ago a couple of my friends decided to apply for the same Masters degree as me, which was of course a welcome decision! The Master is Digital Design and Communications at the IT-U of Copenhagen. I knew I was qualified for it.

Today we all got the letter , saying we got in. All… well except me. Turns out there had been so many applicants that they had to draw lots between all qualified applicants. My 5 friends all got in. I didn’t. Major bummer. This means that I will have this fall to do exactly what I want. Except starting at IT-U of course. Luckily I have a good deal of projects I can tend to, and I’ll have the chance to earn some real money for the first time in 3 years. It will, as every one of my good friends I have talked to today, turn out that many other new doors will open and present possibilities I haven’t dreamt of. I really hope to increase my drumming schedule from the past 3 years, which has been an almost total focus on my education.

But ’til tomorrow, I’ll reserve the right to feel like Friday the 13th was MY Friday the 13th.

So guess what – I actually got around to finishing that report on Digital Theory and Analysis, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t cut it for the exam. I am worn out physically and mentally and even though I am missing only one exam before my summer holiday, and this exam will be my last on the faculty of humanitites (meaning, then I have a bachelors degree! WOW!) I have SUCH a hard time getting my act together and finishing it.

I have been way more busy with the NBA finals and trying out new hummus recipies. At one point I was not that bad a basketball, and it’s still one of my favorite things to watch on the tv. Hey, speaking of tv, I am qutting that shit. TV. Yeah. I have spent a LOT of my childhood watching tv, and I guess I learned british English from watching BBC, especially Monty Python and American English from watching M*A*S*H – two shows I still enjoy when I get the chance. But seriously, these days, there’s not much that satisfy my needs as far as tv goes.

What keeps me together these days is a fine combination of Judie Tzuke’s voice, hard boiled eggs for lunch, and the NBA finals. Sad, isn’t it?

Anyway, next friday, the 20th I have my holidays coming up. Watch out. I’m gonna scream and shout and probably drink a few too many beers.

Today I should be finalizing the last few details on a college report on digital theory and analysis. What I am doing instead is eating chocolate and wathing youtube videos. I am positive that I will get the job done (the report) tonight, but it would be so much nicer if I actually had the balls to go ahead and do it now. Oh yeah, and them I am also blogging in english on a blog that no one is reading (this one, yay!). How productive.

A few days ago I was so unfortunate to share my not too warm feelings towards a well known American drummer ( I wont mention him here), on one of my favorite message boards. He posted a lengthy piece about how much it affected him that certain people (at this point I hadn’t written 1 word yet) on this here board didn’t like him. The guy has a message board of thousands of fans, but feels that he needs the universal thumbs up from everyone and anyone…I guess. The nature of his post was that it was unfair that people didn’t like him (his drumming, that is). How can that be unfair? That’s a matter of personal taste, and in my case, I went online and backed up the guys who had done the initial critiquing of him. BAD FUCKING MOVE. His fans was like bloodhounds and within a few hours I had recieved more than a couple threads about having my teeth kicked in. WOW. I mean…just WOW. What the hell is going on?! Can’t people voice their opinions anymore? It’s just different tastes for different people, come on!

I’ve met him once and he came off as a drunk goofball to me. I don’t know him.

TO ME (Just to underline that this is MY fucking perception of him, not some holy undesputed truth!!!), he is to the art of drumming what McDonalds is to fine dining: NOT related.

What in earth do you do when this happens:

A very good friend of mine just had a baby. I haven’t met them yet with the little new person, but they have managed to send loads of pictures to all their friends, and one word fitted the little guy: Freak. His head is grown in to his neck in a way I have never seen before, and I have seen my share of newborn babies. This isn’t normal. I told one of our mutual friends about it – he hadn’t seen him, and he said “C’mon, how bad can it be?!” -….until he as well was sent the photo freakshow. He was stunned, as am I. I really didn’t know what to say, but just yesterday a doctor had noticed “something unusual” and had asked for them to come in and have his brain plates examined. MAN I am glad I wasn’t the only one!! I felt like the little girl i The Emeperors New Clothes in a freak show anatomy version. Now they await some grueling anwers from the pros, and of course I have nothing but endless empathy and the best of hopes for the little guy.
May his head be healed and may he become as unfreaky as modern western medicine can make him.

Holy shit what a hangover.

So, I guess it’s not a good idea to mix 3 bottles of champagne with a LOT of red wine and a sixpack of beers
?! OK I’m writing this down. I gotta remember this in the future.

I think I’ll call it weekend now, even though it’s barely noon.

I still very much enjoy reading Heather Armstrong. She continues to be the single “best read” out there in the blogosphere. I’ve been reading her for about 4 years now, and recently she’s been highlighted in all sorts of national and international media. If she were ever to write that her husband had died (bless him, he seems cool too!!) I’d buy an airplane ticket right away and head on over to Utah to woo her. Seriously. She’s hot, cute, adorable and very very funny. A couple of years older never bothered me.

I’m crazy. At least that’s how it feels when you’re kinda in love. There’s this one particular girl who just makes my head spin these days. I seriously thinks she’s all that. And then some.

Just a few minutes ago I sent her a little message on facebook, asking her to think about if I could take her out for icecream. I know, I’m such a sissy. I sould just walk up to her and take her on my high horse and ride into the sunset. That, without having my hair resemble that of Hal Foster’s Prince Valiant, in any way of course.

Now I have to consider if she now already HAS seen the message, but just now don’t know how to break it to me that she’s already dating 3 of my best friends and pretty much think I’m a big fat nobody who should just not EVER even think of contacting her ever again.

See, I would have spared myself from that by being cool and tell it to her face. But the risk of her saying no on the spot ALWAYS keep me from that kind of behaviour. At least as long as I’m sober. MAN I’ve had some awkward moments practically shouting to a girl that I REALLY liked her, often just as the music dies out. You know, with guys laughing about it and commenting “Easy tiger” and so on. You gotta love that.

MAN I hope she is just a teeny tiny bit interested.
